Niseko Hanazono Snow Report 28.02.09

I love Niseko. We have had some great days of fresh to wake up to.  The terrain is a little tracked out this morning. However with some more snow on its way we should hopefully see these areas filled once again. Most lifts should be up and running for the week with the Stomping Ground Terrain Park open mid mornings. Average temperatures are forecast to be around -9 and increasing to -3 mid week. Wind chill will bring temperatures down to -20 up top.

Niseko Hanazono Snow Report 27.02.09

Temperatures were below zero overnight and we had 15cms here at the base. The snow keeps on falling so the terrain is powdery and yesterdays tracks are being filled.

All runs, lifts and Terrain Parks are expected to be up and running.  Wind chill should see temperatures down to around minus 17 with a maximum temperature of 0 degrees at the base. South westerly winds should be around 30km/hr and gusting up top.

Niseko Hanazono Snow Report 26.02.09

Another magnificent day out! Fresh tracks were found yesterday with a clearing in the afternoon for great visibility. There was a dusting overnight and it should be a mostly cloudy day ahead with snow falling.

Below zero temperatures overnight and we should see a minimum of -13 with a maximum of -5 degrees today. Wind chill will bring temperatures down to -23. Visibility is variable with low cloud at times.

Temperatures were below zero overnight, and the terrain is fresh and powdery with over 20cms falling last night. However a little heavy on the lower part of the mountain. All runs, lifts and Terrain Parks are expected to be up and running. Wind chill should see temperatures down to around minus 16 with a maximum temperature of minus 1 degree in the village areas.  Westerly winds should be generally light this morning at around 15 to 25km/hr. Visibility is variable with low cloud. Going off piste, have required safety gear and respect the Niseko rules. Patrollers are working hard to keep you safe so for updates and gate status check with patrol and lift stations.

Great conditions in Niseko with snow forecast to fall throughout the day.  Temperatures were zero overnight, and the terrain is powdery, tracked in some areas and compact on groomed runs.   All runs, lifts and Terrain Parks are expected to be up and running.  Wind chill should see temperatures down to around minus 16 with a maximum temperature of minus 2 degrees.  Westerly winds due south westerly should be generally light this morning at around 20km/hr and possibly reaching gale force by this afternoon.   Visibility is variable with low cloud at times.  Going back country in Niseko, have required safety gear and respect the Niseko rules. Hanazono Niseko Hokkaido Halp Pipe Championships

We have just seen a week of non stop powder snow fall.  It has been awesome to be an early bird with a whole day of powder turns and getting waist deep off piste. We should see minimum temperatures around -13 with temperatures warming to 1 degree mid week.  Wind chill will bring temperatures down to -23.  Conditions across all resorts should see most of the lifts spinning with some closed this weekend.  Winds are forecast to be moderate to strong and ease off through the week. The terrain park should be up and running by mid mornings.

Niseko Hanazono Snow Report 20.02.09

Yesterday was awesome.  The crew and I had first tracks in some amazing waist deep powder.  Snowfalls were on and off last night freshening up the base for today.

Temperatures were zero overnight, and the terrain is dry and powdery.   South easterly wind conditions today should see most lifts spinning this morning with a possibility of some closing this afternoon with winds reaching 50km/hr. The Stomping Ground Terrain Park should open by mid morning.

We should see a minimum of 9 with a maximum of 0 degrees at the base.  Wind chill will bring temperatures down to -18.  The lower runs will have better visibility today.

Going back country, carry required safety gear and for detailed information on today's avalanche and gate status, check with patrol and lift stations.

The last couple of days has seen impressive amounts of powder snow fall.

Moderate westerly winds around 20 to 30km/h should see most lifts spinning across the resorts and the Stomping Ground Terrain Park open by mid morning.

Niseko Hanazono Snow Report 17.02.09

Now checking todays weather. Temperatures were below freezing. The terrain is powdery, powdery, yoo hoo powdery! And the snow cover is excellent. Visibility is variable with a touch of sun this morning. At the top of mountain we should see a minimum temperature of minus 12 degrees and a maximum of minus 5 at the base.  Wind chill will bring temperatures down to around minus 22. Unlike yesterday winds have eased off opening the Hanazono area and some top lifts across the mountain.  Risk of avalanche is high with new snow layer so gates may not open.  Check with patrol for updates.

Temperatures were below zero overnight, the terrain is dry, powdery and may be wind swept in areas .  Conditions across all resorts today should see most lifts spinning with a chance os some closing due to wind gusts up top.  The terrain park opens mid morning.  Moderate to strong westerly winds should be around 30 to 45km/hr. The  average wind chill is down to around minus 23 with a maximum temperature of minus 5 degrees.  Visibility is minimal.  Going back country carry required safety gear an be cautious of the new snow layer. Looking around the mountain. Visibility is variable with mostly cloudy days ahead.  Strong winds this afternoon and tomorrow should ease and be generally light for the week which may see some lifts closed however most should be spinning for the duration.  Be prepared for a cold one tomorrow as wind chill could get as low as -30 up top and averaging out to -20 degrees for the rest of the week.

Yesterday in Niseko was a great with the sun shining

Below zero temperatures overnight. The terrain is powdery in areas with some icy patches.   Light southerly winds at around 15km/hr should see most if not all lifts spinning across the resorts.  The  average wind chill is down to around minus 14 with a maximum temperature of minus 1 degree at the base. After FISS events held on the weekend the Hanazono half pipe is open to the public and is in top condition.  A complete run of kickers, jumps, rails and boxes at the stomping Ground Terrain Park.  So whether you are a beginner at this or advanced you will find your special spot.

Niseko Hanazono snow report 07/02/09

Another great day to be out on the mountain. We are heading over to the Hanazono Half Pipe where after intense training yesterday competitors from all over Japan are there to see who will take out the title for the 2009 Snowboard Kissmark Cup and The Hokkaido Half Pipe Championships.

A fantastic day out today, sun and fresh snow.  The Hanazono Half Pipe was pumping on the weekend with two FISS events and we had around 40cms of snow fall in the past 24hrs.

Groomed runs will be compact.   Good conditions across all resorts today should see most if not all lifts running.  The  average wind chill is down to around minus 14 with a maximum temperature of 0 degrees.  Westerly winds should be generally light at around 20km/hr however gusting at the top.   Visibility is effected by continual snowfalls.. The snow is falling in Hanazono and there was over 20cms of fresh Powder on the upper slopes since yesterday. The sun should creep out this afternoon and bring some Blue Sky our way. Will be some great powder stashes out there of the peak down to 308.

Out of Gate 5 yesterday down to Hanazono saw some awesome deep powder stashes.  It is another beautiful wintry morning of fresh snow to wake up to.  15cms fell here at the base with more falling at the top runs and filling tracks.

Hanazono TV's daily powder report

A chilli weekend just passed.  Some fresh snow this morning with 25cms falling in the past 24hrs.  Strong winds have eased off which should see the top lifts spinning today making for some of the best powder turns on the higher runs and north face.
